Programming the Finch robot in Java with a Raspberry Pi
Speakers:
Jordi Ariño, Software Developer Manager at PUE
Description:
Finch is a small robot designed for the educational field by the prestigious CMU Create Lab, with the aim of bringing coding to students from an early age while learning to program through playing. This robot offers support for more than a dozen programming languages -among them Java and Python- and graphic programming environments by blocks that allow easy interaction with its components: led, light sensors, temperature and obstacle, accelerometer …
In this workshop you will get a practical view of how to interact using Java with the different components and sensors available in Finch, as well as configuring a Raspberry Pi to integrate with Finch and become a much more powerful wireless device.
This activity is part of the Oracle Academy program, which takes advantage of Oracle's global technological leadership to offer a complete solution of resources for information technology education, with the aim of helping students prepare for their professional future.
With the registration to this workshop you will receive free access to online training in self-learning format so you can evaluate the e-learning resources that Oracle Academy makes available to schools and teachers for the training of students in Java programming and Oracle Databases.
PUE is the partner chosen by Oracle for the dissemination and management of its Oracle Academy initiative in Spain.
