In its second edition, the meeting organized by PUE was highly attended, receiving the support of the Spanish education and teaching community as well as the commitment of institutions and major multinationals in the ICT sector.
Over 300 participants got together at PUE DAY, whose second edition provided the setting for presenting state-of-the-art developments in ICT training and official certification and for participating in its agenda of activities, positively welcome by attendants:
- Presentation of most prestigious and globally recognized ICT educational projects, including a showcase of resources available for teaching staff and centres.
- Technical update workshops in tools and technologies from educational programmes by multinationals such as Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft and VMware.
- And, last but not least, another innovation in PUE DAY 2015 most positively assessed by registered attendants, who showed great interest in it – the certification day held at the event venue thanks to PUE Mobile Certification service. This initiative allowed over 90 candidates to take official examinations in Linux, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, VMware and Comptia.
The event was honoured with the participation of Mr Francisco José Martínez, President at Fundación Certiuni, University Certification Platform – a project promoted by CRUE (Spanish University Rectors’ Conference) and where PUE is the technological partner. Mr Martínez underpinned the value and achievements of Certiuni in its mission to bring the benefits of qualifications closer to the university.
We would like to highlight the participation and presence of Mr Alfonso Luengo, Managing Director of Fundación Tripartita, and of Ms María de los Reyes Zatarain, Director-General of the State Public Employment Service of Spain (SEPE), who made their point in their opening and closing speeches respectively that training and qualification are a key aspect in the development of Spain, the ICT sector playing a crucial role as a driver of the economy and economic recovery.
We at PUE would like to give our biggest thank you to the over 900 people who registered for PUE DAY, to all the people who attended our event and to the multinationals whose support and participation contributed to the success of the edition and to achieving its objective: bringing ICT qualification closer to the world of education.
The most satisfactory warm welcome received by this edition of PUE DAY encourages us to continue ahead with our commitment to promote qualification and quality training in ICT learning.
