On February 6th the leaders of the General Directorate of Scholarships and Grants for Study from the Ministry of Education and Research of the Community of Madrid met with the main multinational companies in the ICT sector to specify actions and projects aimed at promoting the Training and qualification of the teaching staff and students of the region.
The agreement gives continuity and extends to more multinationals the successful training initiative promoted last academic year by the government of the Community of Madrid in its active collaboration with leading companies in the technological world.
The Ministry of Education from Madrid was represented by Ismael Sanz, General Director of Scholarships and Education Aid and by Vicente Alcañiz, Deputy Director General of Teacher Training, who met with representatives of the multinationals Cisco, Oracle, Red Hat, Vmware and Cloudera with the objective of launching the new proposal for official training in ICT aimed at teachers, which doubles the previous academic year.
The main premise of this collaboration is to provide teachers with access to materials and laboratories developed by these multinationals through their Academy initiatives to subsequently train students in their centers (public, subsidized and private) with the recognition of the main technological references and the consequent added value for their employability.
The active collaboration between the Department of Education and said multinationals was also addressed to promote the STEMadrid initiative. All the multinationals made available to the government of Madrid the many initiatives developed and aligned with the objective of the project: to promote the scientific and technological vocations among the students.
As highlighted by Ismael Sanz, “For the Community of Madrid it is very important to bring knowledge about reference technologies to teachers who will be responsible for transferring it to students to improve their knowledge and future employability in the sector.”
Thanks to this agreement, 480 training places will be offered for teachers of the Community of Madrid in 10 training actions (2 online courses and 8 face-to-face courses). The initiative aims to promote the updating of the teaching collective in key technological areas such as networks, linux, cybersecurity, virtualization, programming (Python and Java) and Big Data.
PUE, through its PUE Academy initiative, is the company selected by the Ministry of Education of Madrid and the multinationals to carry out the training of the teachers and the subsequent implementation of the Academy projects in their educational centers.
The courses will be taught by certified professors and experts from PUE, a national reference in the implementation of the academic programs of the main IT organizations, and an official partner recognized by each of the manufacturers that make up the agreement.
“Our collaboration agreements with the main multinational companies in the ICT sector such as Cisco, Red Hat, Oracle, VMware or Cloudera allow us to provide the specialized official knowledge in addition to managing and implementing in Spain the various initiatives of the Academy”, stresses José Antonio Ufano Ribadulla, President and Director of Institutional Relations in PUE.
“The centers interested in including in their curricula training programs and official ICT certification through the Academy’s initiatives of the main multinationals of the sector, find in PUE a collaborator that facilitates their implementation with a service of training, support and continuing advice.
